Dear Everyone, Live Earth at the farm was simply amazing . You can't imagine how magical it was to have Buckwheat Zydeco playing on our homemade mega stage in the hayfield. Everything exceeded our expectations except for attendance. 100 degrees scared a lot of people away so we took a big financial loss.
If that wasn't enough, on Sunday when we were cleaning up lightening struck two of our houses burning up the phone lines and exploding my computer. The force of the jolt literally unplugged the computer from the wall and the house filled with smoke from burning plastic. Already our community is coming to the rescue. Some of the bands have decided not to accept payment. The people we rented the tents from gave them to us for free because they believe in what we are doing. The service guy from the phone company told us he would come back off the clock if we needed any more help rebuilding our phone system. We have tons of compostable party wear left over to sell so get in touch with us and we'll give you the real deal. If you like what you see here and want to help our work move forward please send a check made out to: Anathoth Community Farm 740 Round Lake Road Luck, WI 54853 If you can send more than $50 make the check out to The Progressive Foundation for a tax deduction and send it to the same address. Please sign up for the E-mail list here at the website if you want to get the newsletter. I lost 900 addresses and have to start from scratch. In the last eight weeks we have had over 23,000 visits to the website. That seems to suggest at least some of you are interested in what we are doing here on the farm. When we are able we'll post photos and videos of 7/7/07 and you will wish you were here. Maybe next time. hugs from all of us at the farm and our friends who keep us going in every way possible |
