Thanks to my old day job fixing rotten log buildings the concert debt is paid!! I had an interesting summer going from frenetic peace activist to highly technical craftsman restoring log homes in some of the most scenic locations the upper Midwest has to offer. And I got to work with my daughter Emma who, at twenty three, can run a chain saw with the best of them. It was almost like being on sabbatical.
Many of you sent donations to help pay the bills and every last penny of that went into the building fund for the new education center ( after all that was one of the main reasons for doing the concert). So the debt is paid, we made some money, everyone who was at the show had the best day ever, and the farm got some great exposure in the news and at the website ( we went from about 50,000 visits to over 100,000 in less than three months). And we ended up having lots of visitors including 6 young people who spent the better part of the summer with us and they helped us all immensely. So now it's on to the next adventure out here in Luck. Stay tuned. |
